Description
The Riedel Bolero is a wireless intercom system for broadcast, live events, and film production. It suits crews that need to move freely around a venue or set. Hire it as a complete, scalable kit — beltpacks, antennas, and network interfacing — sized to the crew and venue. In addition, an experienced operator is available where the production needs one.
Scalable to the production
A single Bolero deployment supports up to 250 beltpacks and 100 antennas. Each antenna handles up to 10 beltpacks at once. As a result, the system scales from a crew on a single-camera shoot to a broadcast with dozens of users.
The system also supports daisy-chain and redundant-ring antenna topology. Consequently, this extends reliable coverage across large venues without losing signal quality.
The system is standalone-capable, so it sets up through a web browser without needing a separate intercom matrix on site. An optional NSA-002A network stream adapter connects Bolero to existing analogue 4-wire intercom systems. It also provides GPIOs for external device handling, useful when Bolero needs to sit alongside legacy comms in a venue.
Beltpacks built for a full shoot day
Each beltpack offers six full-duplex channels plus a dedicated REPLY key. It also has a sunlight-readable colour display and IP-53 protection against dust and light rain. Riedel’s ADR (Advanced DECT Receiver) technology adds multi-diversity reception. So, the system stays reliable in RF-congested venues where other wireless intercoms struggle.
A built-in microphone and speaker let the beltpack work without a headset, doubling as a walkie-talkie in the field. Bluetooth 4.1 lets a wireless headset or phone pair directly. Touch-based NFC registration adds a beltpack to the network in seconds. As a result, this replaces the manual pairing process most other systems require.
Who this suits on set
- Multi-camera broadcast and live event crews needing reliable comms across a large venue
- Film and TV production teams that need crew to move freely without a cabled headset
- Productions that need comms fast on a plug-and-play basis, without a full intercom matrix
