About Camera Hire
Camera Hire is a professional cinema and broadcast equipment rental company based in Sydney, Australia. Operating under the company Camera Hire Group Pty Ltd, we provide production teams with the equipment they need to shoot — prepped properly, delivered on time, and ready for set.
Our primary facility is in Alexandria, Sydney with Production Support available Australia-wide. Overnight or same-day delivery is available to every Australian capital city, and we support international crews shooting anywhere in Australia and beyond.
What we do
We hire professional cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, and accessories to film, television, and photography productions of all sizes. Our inventory spans the full range of professional cinema and broadcast formats — from ARRI Alexa 35 and Sony Venice 2 packages for high-end drama and commercials, through to smaller mirrorless and DSLR kits for documentary, corporate, and photographic work.
Our lens range covers cinema prime and zoom lenses across Super-35, Large Format, and Anamorphic formats, alongside a comprehensive selection of photo lenses for Canon, Sony, Nikon, and Micro 4/3 mounts. Lighting options include ARRI, Aputure, Astera, Creamsource, and Kino Flo. For audio, we stock Sennheiser, Rode, Sound Devices, Zoom, and Lectrosonics.
How we work
Every package that leaves our facility is pre-tested and production-ready. We hold ourselves to the same technical standards regardless of job size.
Pre-shoot calibration suites — we offer exclusive, bookable pre-shoot testing suites with professional calibration and monitoring setups. Flange depth, back focus, and lens shimming are handled by our in-house technicians before every hire, so your crew can focus on the shoot rather than the prep.
Matched multi-camera packages — for episodic drama, high-end commercials, and live production, we can supply multiple matched camera systems simultaneously from our deep inventory. Options include the ARRI Alexa 35, Alexa Mini LF, Sony Venice 2, and FX6, among others.
Same-day Sydney delivery — productions shooting in the Sydney metro area can arrange same-day courier delivery. Contact us before noon on (02) 8065 8195 to discuss same-day arrangements.
Australia-wide overnight delivery — we deliver to Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle, Gold Coast, and regional NSW via StarTrack overnight. Equipment is packed in professional foam-core hard cases. Insurance is available on all hired items and covers equipment in transit.
International production support — we regularly support crews from the US, UK, Japan, China, and across Europe shooting in Australia. We understand the logistics of international production and provide producer-level support to get foreign crews shooting fast.
