The Canon CN-E 30-105mm T2.8 L is a standard-range cinema zoom built for 4K production (4096×2160), compatible with Super 35mm and APS-C sensors.
Mount and Aperture
This EF-mount lens pairs natively with Canon EF cinema and DSLR bodies — the Canon C-series, EOS Cinema and DSLR range — with no adapter required, and adapts to Sony E-mount or Micro Four Thirds via a passive adapter. A constant T2.8 aperture holds bright performance in low light with no brightness shift while zooming, aided by fluorite and large aspherical elements for sharp, consistent images across the range.
Handling
Minimum object distance of 23.6″ (0.6m) allows tight close-ups in confined spaces. Glass construction resists temperature-induced barrel expansion, useful under hot production lights, and control rings hold consistent resistance. Focus, zoom and iris markings sit on angled surfaces for easier reading from behind the camera, with an 11-blade iris for soft, attractive blur. A 300° focus rotation and geared internal focus design minimise breathing, and the lens is compatible with standard matte boxes and production accessories.
