Description
The Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G is widely regarded as one of the finest ultra-wide zooms made for the 35mm format, with edge-to-edge sharpness, minimal vignetting and very low distortion — a strong pick for landscape work needing the flexibility of a zoom without giving up prime-level quality.
Optics
Two ED elements and PGM aspherical elements control chromatic aberration and sharpen the image, with Nano Crystal Coat cutting ghosting and flare. Internal focusing keeps autofocus fast and quiet without changing the lens length or working distance. Together with the 24-70mm and 70-200mm, it forms Nikon’s classic f/2.8 zoom trio.
Handling
A Silent Wave Motor gives fast, accurate, near-silent autofocus, with an M/A switch for quick AF/MF changes. As a G-type lens it has no external aperture ring — aperture is set from the camera body — keeping the lens lighter and more compact. Rugged, weather-resistant construction rounds out the build.
