Description
The Tiffen 77mm ND Filter Kit (Indie Filmmaker set) includes 0.3, 0.6, 0.9 and 1.2 density filters — all 77mm, adaptable to smaller lenses with step-up rings — for exposure control in bright light without affecting colour balance.
Why Use ND
- Enables slower shutter speeds for motion effects — waterfalls, clouds, moving traffic
- Allows wider apertures for shallower depth of field, separating subject from background
- Lets high-ISO stock or sensors shoot outdoors in bright conditions
- Prevents overexposure on cine/video cameras with fixed shutter speeds in bright scenes (snow, sand, etc.)
Densities
- ND 0.6 — 2 stops (the general-purpose value for average bright conditions)
- ND 0.9 — 3 stops
- ND 1.2 — 4 stops
