The 12.1MP sensor (10.2MP effective in video) captures UHD 4K with internal 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling or 16-bit raw output. ISO extends from 80 to 409,600, with over 15 stops of dynamic range. S-Cinetone matches footage to Sony VENICE, FX9 and FX6 sources, and S-Log3/S-Log2 with 10-bit HLG cover HDR workflows.
Autofocus and Handling
Fast Hybrid AF tracks subjects quickly across changing scenes, and the sensor/processor combination reduces rolling shutter. The compact body makes the FX3 a practical choice whenever a production needs cinema-grade image quality without the bulk of a full cine body.
