Description
The Sony XDCA-FS7 Extension Unit attaches to the back of the PXW-FS7 via a MultiPin connector, adding I/O and enabling raw output for multi-camera and higher-end recording setups.
Recording Options
The unit enables 12-bit 4K/2K raw output to a compatible external recorder, such as Sony’s AXS-R5 (with the optional HXR-IFR5 interface unit). It also includes built-in Apple ProRes encoding, recording 1080p ProRes 422 directly to an XQD card in the camera.
Multi-Camera Support
Genlock and timecode connectors sync the FS7 into multi-camera setups, with a REC tally indicator for on-set confirmation. A V-Mount battery connector, 4-pin XLR DC power input and 4-pin Hirose DC power output round out the power and I/O options.
