RED V-Raptor 8K VV — full-frame cinema camera with 17+ stops of dynamic range and frame rates up to 600fps at 2K.

Description

The RED V-Raptor 8K VV is a DSMC3 digital cinema camera, only slightly larger than the Komodo, built around a full-frame 8K sensor with an RF lens mount and PL/EF adapter compatibility.

Sensor

The 35.4MP full-frame sensor delivers 17+ stops of dynamic range and the lowest noise floor in RED’s lineup, with a shutter readout speed nearly twice as fast as the MONSTRO. Phase-detection autofocus is supported through a fixed OLPF tuned for RED’s signature colour and sensitivity.

Recording and I/O

Capture options span 8K VV, 6K Super 35, 4K, 3K Super 16 and anamorphic modes, with high-speed rates up to 8K 17:9 at 120fps, 6K S35 at 198fps, 4K 17:9 at 240fps and 2K 2.4:1 at 600fps. 16-bit REDCODE RAW records in simplified HQ/MQ/LQ options from 180-360MB/s. Dual 12G-SDI ports output mirrored or independent feeds, and a USB-C port streams up to 1080p.
