Nikon ZR 6K Cinema Camera
The Nikon ZR 6K Cinema Camera combines Nikon engineering with RED colour science. As a result, it delivers impressive cinematic images in a compact body. It uses the Nikon Z-mount, so you can choose from a wide range of lenses. The camera also includes in-body stabilisation and offers 15+ stops of dynamic range, which helps capture clean and detailed footage in many environments.
Note: When switched off, the IBIS sensor may move slightly and make a light rattle sound. This is normal and stops once the camera is powered on.
High-Quality Recording Options
The Nikon ZR can record in several formats including REDCODE RAW (R3D NE), Nikon N-RAW, and ProRes RAW. This gives you flexibility depending on the workflow or post-production requirements. You can record:
6K up to 60fps
4K up to 120fps
1080p up to 240fps for slow motion
Improved Audio Capture
This camera also offers professional audio features. It records 32-bit float or 24-bit audio, which helps preserve detail and avoid clipping. There are built-in microphones with multiple directional settings and support for external microphones through the digital accessory shoe and line input. In addition, a headphone jack is available for live monitoring.
Fast and Smart Autofocus
Thanks to Nikon’s deep-learning technology, the autofocus can detect and track up to nine subjects at once. It recognises people, animals, and vehicles, which makes it suitable for events, wildlife, and action filmmaking.
Flexible Media and Output
The camera records to a CFexpress Type-B card, and a microSD slot is included for proxy files. There is also a micro-HDMI port, allowing you to connect external monitors or recording devices.
Lens Choice and Strong Stabilisation
Because it uses the Nikon Z-mount, the ZR supports a large range of NIKKOR and third-party lenses. With in-body stabilisation up to 7.5 stops, handheld footage stays smoother — even when using longer focal lengths.

The 4-inch touchscreen monitor provides DCI-P3 colour, high brightness, and sharp resolution. It also flips automatically when you rotate the camera for vertical shooting. Furthermore, you can load up to 10 custom LUTs for live preview.

With built-in support for Frame.io and a filmmaking-focused interface, the ZR is built for fast and efficient production. Custom buttons, quick menus, and tools like waveform, peaking, gridlines, and zebras make on-set monitoring easier.

You can power the camera using the included EN-EL15c battery or through USB-C using an external power source such as a power bank. This makes it ideal for long shoots in the field.
