ARRI Alexa 35 Xtreme Digital Cinema Camera

$0

ARRI’s high-speed Alexa 35 variant — up to 330fps at the full 17 stops of dynamic range, or up to 660fps in Sensor Overdrive mode. Same compact housing, LPL mount and accessory compatibility as the standard Alexa 35.

Description

The ARRI Alexa 35 Xtreme is a high-speed revision of the Alexa 35, built for productions that need extreme slow motion without swapping to a separate high-speed camera body. It keeps the same compact housing, connectors and mechanical interfaces as the standard Alexa 35, so existing accessories, cages and matte boxes carry straight over.

Up to 660fps without leaving the ARRI ecosystem

New processing hardware lifts the standard frame rate ceiling to 330fps while retaining the full 17 stops of dynamic range the Alexa 35 is known for. A new Sensor Overdrive mode pushes further still, up to 660fps, trading some dynamic range (11 stops) and doubling base sensitivity to EI 1600 for situations where extreme slow motion is the priority.

ARRICORE codec for lighter data rates

The Xtreme introduces ARRICORE, ARRI’s next-generation RGB codec. It targets the same image quality as existing workflows — ARRI Look File ALF4, ARRI Textures, MXF wrapper and metadata all carry over — while reducing data rates, so the higher frame rates don’t multiply storage and offload time as much as raw math would suggest.

Built for the same production workflow

Because the body, mount and connectors match the standard Alexa 35, a Xtreme can drop into an existing kit without re-rigging. Power consumption is around 10% lower than the standard Alexa 35, and pre-recording buffers longer, so short bursts of unpredictable action are easier to catch without missing the take.
