The Canon EOS R6 is a camera for both photo and video shooting. This full-frame mirrorless camera features a 20MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC X processor. The result is up to 12 fps stills and 4K 60p video recording. In addition, a wide sensitivity range up to ISO 102400. It also includes 5-axis in-body image stabilisation to help steady shots when working in low-light conditions.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF offers quick, smooth, and intelligent focusing using 1053 selectable points. This focusing system features improved subject tracking as well as precise eye, face, and head-detection for both people and animals.
Additionally, dual SD UHS-II memory card slots offer flexible storage. Finally integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enable wireless sharing and remote camera control.
20MP Full-Frame Sensor and DIGIC X Processor
Built around a revised 20MP full-frame CMOS sensor, the EOS R6 offers modest resolution. The Canon R6’s sensitivity range is ISO 100-102400, with expansion to ISO 204800. In addition, quick continuous shooting is possible up to 12 fps with a mechanical shutter. Or silent 20 fps with an electronic shutter.
4K60 and Full HD 120 Video Recording
Beyond stills, the 20MP sensor also affords UHD 4K video recording at up to 60 fps. Alternatively, Full HD up to 120 fps for slow-motion. Both formats can be recorded internally at 4:2:2 10-bit and both Canon Log and HDR-PQ are supported. Additionally, Dual Pixel CMOS AF is available for all recording settings. Finally the HDMI port enables clean 4K output to an external recorder.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II features 1053 selectable focusing points, covering approximately 100% of the image frame. This offers smooth and fast focusing performance in a similar manner to how a camcorder acquires focus. When working with still imagery, this focusing system works to acquire focus quickly and accurately. For video, Movie Servo AF mode offers smooth and natural focusing when changing from different subjects or different distances.
Subject tracking quickly and accurately recognises both people and animal subjects.
Sensor-Shift Image Stabiliser
The EOS R6 has five-axis sensor-shift image stabilisation. This compensates for up to eight stops of camera shake. The result is effective compensation of camera shake for suit handheld shooting with slower shutter speeds. This stabilisation system also works in concert with lens-based optical image stabilisation (RF and adapted EF lenses).
