Description
The ARRI LCUBE CUB-1 is a miniature signal converter for ARRI’s electronic control system. It translates between LBUS and serial protocols, so devices that use different connections can work together. As a result, it often solves a specific problem on a lens control build.
Distance data on ALEXA Mini cameras
The LCUBE adapts the UDM-1 Ultrasonic Distance Measure to the ALEXA Mini and ALEXA Mini LF. It then sends distance readings through the cforce motor chain to a Hi-5 or WCU-4 hand unit. This setup also enables focus tracking, much like other ALEXA cameras or a UMC-4.
Camera control
Serial cables also connect the CUB-1 to Sony F5, F55 and VENICE cameras, as well as RED cameras. LANC devices from makers such as Canon and Blackmagic Design can connect too. Consequently, ARRI control accessories can work with selected third-party cameras. Check your exact camera with us, because support varies.
Mounting and cabling
The unit comes with the LCUBE Bracket, which fits its integrated dovetail. LBUS and serial cables aren’t part of ARRI’s basic set, so tell us your setup when booking.
