Description
The Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM is a medium telephoto prime built for subject separation. It gives portrait, fashion and close-range sports work a flattering perspective with strong background blur. It also suits compressed landscape framing and cinematic video.
The bright f/1.8 aperture lets it perform in low light while keeping precise control over depth of field. Built to Sony’s G Master standard, it balances sharpness, speed and refined bokeh in one body.
G Master Optics for Outstanding Image Quality
The optical design centres on a precision XA element that controls spherical aberrations such as coma, astigmatism and field curvature, keeping highlights clean and well-defined. Two extra-low dispersion elements, including one Super ED element, reduce colour fringing for accurate reproduction edge to edge.
Nano AR Coating suppresses flare and ghosting in backlit conditions. A rounded 11-blade diaphragm produces smooth, natural bokeh that enhances subject separation without harsh edges.
Fast, Quiet and Accurate Autofocus
An XD Linear Motor system paired with internal focusing delivers fast, accurate and near-silent autofocus, suited equally to stills and video work. Manual focus feels smooth, and a minimum focusing distance of 0.7m allows close-up compositions at up to 0.25x magnification.
Two customisable focus hold buttons on the barrel give quick access to key settings during fast-paced shoots.
Built for Professional Use
Dust- and moisture-resistant construction and rubberised control rings hold up in demanding environments and colder conditions. The physical aperture ring can be de-clicked for smooth, silent adjustments while filming, and a fluorine-coated front element repels water, dust and fingerprints for quick cleaning.
