The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II covers a versatile wide-to-short-telephoto range with a constant f/4 aperture, improving on the original with a new optical design that reduces vignetting.
Optics
Four glass-moulded aspherical elements minimise distortion across the zoom range for stronger sharpness and edge illumination, with Air Sphere Coating reducing backlit flare and ghosting. Ten rounded diaphragm blades give smooth bokeh for selective focus work.
Handling
An Ultrasonic Motor gives fast, precise, near-silent autofocus with full-time manual override, and optical image stabilisation corrects up to 4 stops of camera shake. A zoom lock, dust/water-resistant construction and fluorine coating on the front and rear elements round out the L-series build. On APS-C bodies the lens gives a 38.4-168mm equivalent range.
