The Blackmagic 7″ Video Assist 12G is a combined monitor and recorder used extensively on long-form productions for on-set video split and backup recording.
Display and Recording
A 7″ touchscreen at 1920×1200 with 2500 nits stays clearly viewable outdoors, with a simple tap-driven interface. Recording covers ProRes or DNxHD to fit a range of editing workflows, with HDMI and SDI inputs for broad camera compatibility. Built-in waveform, histogram and focus peaking support precise exposure and focus checks on set.
Build
Lightweight and compact enough to mount on a rig or use handheld, the unit runs on battery or AC power with long battery life for extended shoots.
