The Sony Rialto Extension System for VENICE 2 separates the camera body from the sensor block, giving productions a lightweight, compact option for shots a full-size body can’t reach.
Reach and Placement
The sensor block can sit up to 3 metres from the camera body, extending to 12 metres with an optional cable. That range covers handheld rigs, gimbals, drones, cranes and vehicle mounts without sacrificing image quality.
Full VENICE 2 Performance
The Rialto uses the same 8.6K full-frame sensor as VENICE 2 8K, and is compatible with both the 8K and 6K bodies (6K models need firmware v4.0 to unlock 8.6K capture). It supports full-frame and Super 35 modes, dual base ISO and VENICE 2’s full colour reproduction.
Build and Controls
At 70% smaller than the previous version, the system suits handheld, gimbal, jib, crane and vehicle-mounted work. A nine-piece drop-in ND set (Clear to 2.4 gradations) handles exposure changes on the fly. Sony E and ARRI PL mounts are both included, with Cooke /i metadata support on PL. A built-in gyro records tilt and roll data for vehicle work, and the system supports 3D/VR capture with dual VENICE 2 units.
