Description
Compact. Flexible. Professional.
The Sony Rialto Extension System for VENICE 2 gives filmmakers greater freedom on set. Because of its lightweight and compact design, the camera body can be separated from the sensor block. As a result, it becomes easier to shoot in tight or difficult spaces while still keeping the high image quality VENICE 2 is known for.
Ideal for Creative Setups
The Rialto is a smart choice for handheld rigs, gimbals, drones, cranes, and car mounts. In fact, you can position the sensor block up to 3 metres away from the camera body. With an optional cable, this distance can extend to 12 metres. Therefore, you gain more flexibility without losing the cinematic quality.
High-End Performance
This system supports full-frame and Super 35 modes. In addition, it maintains all sensor features, including dual base ISO, high frame rates, and excellent colour reproduction.
Built for Professional Productions
Whether it’s a feature film, a commercial, or a live event, the Rialto makes it easier to shoot more creatively. Moreover, it is the right tool for projects that demand both precision and versatility.
VENICE 2 Full-Frame 8.6K Sensor
The Rialto uses the same 8.6K full-frame sensor found in the VENICE 2 8K. Furthermore, it is compatible with both the VENICE 2 8K and VENICE 2 6K. With the v4.0 firmware update, VENICE 2 6K owners can also unlock 8.6K capture.
Requires Latest Firmware
To use the Rialto Extension System, the VENICE 2 firmware v4.0 (available August 2025) will be required.
Compact and Lightweight Design
This mini system is 70% smaller than the earlier version. Because it separates the lens and sensor block from the body, it improves mobility while maintaining full-frame image quality. Therefore, it is perfect for handheld, gimbal, jib, crane, and vehicle-mounted setups.
Drop-In ND Filter System
You can quickly control exposure using the included nine-piece drop-in ND filter set (Clear to 2.4 gradations). In addition, extra filters are available separately.
Professional Lens Options
The system comes with a Sony E-mount and an ARRI PL adapter. Consequently, it supports a wide range of lenses. It also allows for rear flange adjustment to fine-tune select lenses. Moreover, the PL mount supports Cooke /i metadata for accurate lens data.
Advanced Shooting Features
Detachable 14.8′ cable (optional 39.3′ available separately).
Assignable user buttons for run/stop, false colour, and other quick functions.
Built-in gyro sensor records tilt and roll metadata, helping stabilise vehicle-mounted shots.
3D/VR capture with dual VENICE 2 cameras and extensions.
VFX-ready, perfect for immersive backgrounds and 360° capture rigs.
