Description
The Nikon Z7 is a 45.7MP full-frame mirrorless camera on Nikon’s Z mount, with an FTZ adapter included for using existing F-mount lenses.
Sensor and Processing
A back-illuminated 45.7MP sensor with no optical low-pass filter, paired with the EXPEED 6 processor, gives high resolution with a native ISO 64-25,600 and 9fps continuous raw shooting. A 493-point phase-detect AF system covers 90% of the frame, with hybrid phase/contrast AF for smooth video focus.
Video
UHD 4K records at up to 30p, full-frame or DX crop, with N-Log gamma and 10-bit HDMI output for grading headroom. Full HD reaches 120p for slow motion, and an 8K time-lapse mode (via Interval Timer or in-camera 4K time-lapse) captures up to 9999 exposures with a silent shutter.
Build
5-axis in-body stabilisation gives up to 5 stops of correction, dropping to 3-axis with adapted F-mount lenses via the FTZ adapter. A 3.2″ tilting touchscreen, 3.6m-dot EVF, single XQD slot (CFexpress-forward-compatible), Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and SnapBridge remote control round out the body. The included EN-EL15b battery gives around 330 shots per charge.
FTZ Adapter
Supports around 360 F-mount lenses, with full AF/AE on AF-S, AF-P and AF-I types — over 90 E/G/D lenses keep full autofocus. Weather-sealed magnesium alloy construction includes a 1/4″-20 tripod mount for balancing longer, heavier lenses.
