Description
The DJI Ronin 4D Flex Extension Unit detaches the Zenmuse X9 gimbal camera from the main Ronin 4D body, for lighter handheld operation and remote head control in tight spaces.
Weight and Cable
Detached, the handheld setup weighs just 1.8kg (4lb), reducing strain on extended handheld sessions. A 2m (6.6ft) cable connects camera and body, supporting up to 8K video transmission.
Setup
Switching between integrated and Flex setups is tool-free. Handgrip mount adapters and USB-C cables give native control through the Ronin 4D system. 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads mount the X9 on a jib arm or extension pole for fluid low-to-high angle moves.
Remote Head Use
As a cinema-grade remote head, the X9 handles dynamic pan, tilt and tracking shots in constrained spaces. A mounting vest or backpack redistributes weight across the shoulders or waist for longer handheld sessions. Telephoto, zoom and anamorphic lenses are supported via the included pan-axis quick lock, and tripod mounting adds compatibility with third-party follow focus motors.
