The Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera features a high-resolution 26.2MP (6240 x 4160) full-frame CMOS sensor along with a DIGIC 8 image processor. It offers a wide native ISO range of 100-40000, fast continuous shooting up to 5 fps and UHD 4K30 video recording. The sensor also features a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system. This system uses 4779 selectable on-sensor phase-detection points for quick and accurate focus, even in video and live view modes. It is sensitive down to EV-5 enabling auto-focus in low light conditions.
The Canon EOS RP features Canon’s new RF-Mount system for lenses designed for mirrorless cameras. This mount uses a 12-pin electronic contact system for faster and increased metadata transfer. This enables improved autofocus, image stabilisation and lens aberration compensation. The EOS RP accepts LP-E17 batteries and has a single SD card slot. It is both smaller and lighter compared to the Canon EOS R Mirrorless camera.
The EOS RP supports UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution (at 1.6 crop) recording at up to 30 fps at 120 Mb/s. Internal 4K video is recorded at 4:2:0 8-bit, with 4:2:2 8-bit external recording possible through HDMI out.
