The Aputure STORM 400x is a compact yet powerful tunable white LED monolight designed for film, TV and commercial content. It delivers high output, advanced colour accuracy and flexible control options. Moreover, with its rugged IP65 build and Bowens mount, it is ready for indoor studios and demanding on-location environments.
Full-Spectrum Lighting Power
The STORM 400x uses a full-spectrum LED chipset to deliver consistent and accurate illumination. It features a wide colour temperature range from 2500K to 10,000K, so you can smoothly transition between tungsten, daylight or mixed lighting setups.
Additionally, when used with the included 35° reflector, its 5600K output reaches up to 64,600 lux at 1m. Therefore, it is suitable for interviews, studio work, large scenes and detailed commercial shoots.
Breakthrough BLAIR Chip Technology
At the core of the STORM 400x is Aputure’s innovative BLAIR chipset, combining blue, lime, amber, indigo and red LEDs. Consequently, the fixture produces cleaner colour tones and enhanced brightness.
It achieves 95 CRI and 95 TLCI, along with an impressive SSI score of 87 at 3200K and 5600K. Furthermore, it includes green-magenta adjustment for precise white balance, ensuring seamless matching with other fixtures and multiple camera systems.
Advanced Dimming and Control
The included control box enables stepless dimming from 0.1–100%, while maintaining flicker-free output at every level. As a result, the STORM 400x is suitable for high-frame-rate cinematography and broadcast applications.

Built for Tough Production Conditions
The STORM 400x is IP65 rated for dust and weather resistance. Therefore, it performs reliably outdoors, on wet locations, or in challenging environmental conditions.
It also features a Bowens S-mount, giving users access to a wide range of softboxes, reflectors and optical modifiers. In addition, the secure locking design ensures fast, stable and safe mounting during production.
Flexible Power Solutions
You can run the STORM 400x using AC power via the included controller, or with a V-Mount battery when shooting on location. This flexibility is ideal for productions that require portability or rapid setup.
