The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III refreshes Canon’s flagship telephoto with Air Sphere Coating (ASC) to reduce ghosting, flaring and contrast loss, alongside fluorine coating on the front and rear elements for easier cleaning.
Optics
Fluorite and ultra-low dispersion elements reduce aberration for high-resolution, high-contrast images. Two-mode Image Stabilisation corrects for still subjects or panning movement, and an ultrasonic focus motor gives fast, smooth, silent autofocus with manual override.
Handling
A focus range limiter (1.2m-infinity or 2.5m-infinity) speeds up acquisition, and a round aperture gives pleasing bokeh. Dust and moisture sealing, a removable rotatable tripod collar, and a 77mm filter thread round out the build.
